The Plemmirio Marine Protected Area is being upgraded to be used by disabled people : a large boat with the glass bottom, to allow the viewing of the seabed during navigation, equipped with an adequate space for wheelchairs on board; a future multisensory aquarium that will rise in the final headquarters of the Plemmirio Consortium; two underwater routes created for the blind in the area of Capo Meli and Punta della Monache, which also use the Braille language to provide informative support for the special underwater visit. Various services are available, such as underwater tourism, diving centre with highly qualified personnel, as well as specialized “sea guides”, to accompany disabled people.
